Courses for school staff

  • Boy playing rugby - large1 hour course

The Australian Government provides funding through the national Asthma Child and Adolescent Program to deliver a free 1-hour asthma training session for school staff.

This course enables staff to recognise signs and triggers of asthma, know how to appropriately use reliever medication, be able to effectively perform asthma first aid, and understand the policies relating to asthma in the school setting.

It is available free of charge to all schools, once every three years.

    Who should attend?

It is highly recommended that all school staff attend the session including the school administration staff, as they are often called upon for assistance by students.

Note: Free training is limited to one per school per three years, and dependent on availability of trainers and resources. If an additional course is required within this three year period, there is a cost of $220 (incl GST).

This course is held at your school at a date and time that suits you.

School staff meetings and pupil free days are the most popular occasions for training. Please ensure that you book training well in advance if you are requesting training on a pupil free day as these dates are in high demand.
