    This website is a collaborative effort between the Asthma Foundations of the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland and South Australia.

    Mark Brooke

    Mr Mark Brooke is CEO of Asthma Australia Inc. He commenced in April 2013 following 3 ½ years as CEO of Asthma Foundation Queensland where he led the reform to what is now regarded as a highly relevant, patient-focused and sustainable health charity.

    As a not-for-profit careerist with over 20 years senior management experience, he has served as CEO of Playgroup Queensland and in key leadership roles in Police Youth Clubs NSW and Queensland, leading these multi-faceted award winning organisations through highly complex corporate restructures.

    Mark has qualifications in business, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and has a strong personal commitment to young people issues. He is a current or past Director of several not-for-profit boards and peak bodies including Families Australia and the Australian Council for Families and Children. Mark is sought out for his comprehensive understanding of not-for-profit governance, workforce development strategies (particularly work/life balance) and organisation reform.

    He volunteers for two local charities and sports clubs.

      Danielle dal Cortivo 

    Danielle Dal Cortivo joined Asthma Foundation ACT in March 2014. Danielle is a graduate of the University of Canberra where she obtained a Bachelor in Communications (Public Relations) and of the Australian College of Applied Psychology where she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma of Counselling. Danielle is currently completing her Master of Public Health at the Australian National University.

    Danielle brings to the role more than eleven years program and policy development and implementation experience working within the Australian Government and not-for-profit sector in a number of management positions. Danielle’s most recent position was working on mental health policy and program development for the Commonwealth Department of Health.

    Danielle also brings international experience in professional and humanitarian capacities working in not-for-profit organisations in Canada, Botswana and Tanzania, and locally as the co-founder of Canberra charity 'raize the roof'.

     Michele Goldman - AFNSW CEO

    Asthma Foundation NSW CEO Michele Goldman began her career as a Marketer, working for a major multinational in two countries and across many well known brands. Following which she decided to move into the not for profit sector, taking a position with Mission Australia in their corporate partnerships division. After a maternity leave stint, Michele joined Asthma Foundation NSW in January 2007.

    Michele was appointed CEO of Asthma Foundation NSW in 2010 and continues to be committed to achieving positive health outcomes for Australians with asthma.

    Asthma Foundation NT Executive Officer Jan Saunders began her career in Adelaide as a Registered Nurse and Midwife before relocating with her family to the Northern Territory. She commenced with Asthma Foundation NT as a part-time asthma educator and soon progressed to the role of Education Manager. In July 2005, Jan was appointed Executive Officer and she leads a small group of passionate personnel who work together to achieve better health outcomes for people with asthma and linked respiratory conditions.

     Peter Anderson

    Asthma Foundation Queensland CEO Dr Peter Anderson has a long history as an educator and researcher, firstly in secondary schools followed by over 15 years in the University Sector.

    In more recent times he has worked in senior management positions across the chronic disease not-for-profit sector with Heart Foundation Australia, Diabetes Australia, Diabetes Queensland and more recently Asthma Foundation Queensland as Programs and Policy Manager.

    Dr Anderson has been an active member of the Public Health Association of Australia for many years, having been State President and a National Board member and is a Fellow of the Association.

    Asthma Foundation SA CEO David Bedson has worked in the not-for-profit community sector for 14 years including the past 5 years with Asthma Foundation SA. David’s previous roles included CEO of Life Education (SA) and Deputy CEO of the YMCA (SA). Before entering the not-for-profit industry, David worked in education as a teacher and human resource development consultant mainly in the Northern Territory.

    David has a Masters qualification in Education (majoring in Human Resource Management).
