2013 Queensland Capstone Bursaries Announced

  • 2012 Research Awards WebsiteWith thanks to the 'Breath of Burlesque' Charity Event, raising funds for the Lyn Egan Memorial Fund, Asthma Foundation Queensland has provided four student bursaries for upcoming researchers in 2013.

In 2012, the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Queensland introduced athe Biomedical Capstone Course for their final year students which aims to develop their interest and skills in biomedical research.

The capstone course is run by asthma researchers, Dr Simon Phipps and Dr Stuart Mazzone, and provides an opportunity for students to integrate their knowledge and intellectual skills developed during years 1 and 2 of their undergraduate degrees to develop a research grant proposal.

Asthma Foundation Queensland, through its fundraising activities, is pleased to offer four bursary awards to facilitate high achieving students.

The successful applicants for 2013 are:

    • Ms Katie Lane
    • Ms Kate Taylor
    • Ms Monica Narula
    • Ms Natalie Kim

Asthma Foundation Queensland will host a morning tea during March to present the students with their Awards.

We would like to thank all of our donors and supporters for their ongoing support. Research is leading us down the path to better treatments for asthma, and by enabling us to award these bursaries, you are directly contributing to a better future for people with asthma.
