  • Back to School Campaign 2017 - ASK ABOUT ASTHMA. Every year there is a sharp rise in the number of asthma attacks for children when they return to school after the summer break. This results in increased Emergency Department visits and hospitalisations. Asthma Australia has provided Parents and Carers with a checklist to help families be prepared and to try to reduce these health impacts and their flow-on educational effects. You can help too….
  • Between Life and Breath – new secondary video resource - A new video specifically for secondary students has been produced by Asthma Australia in collaboration with a focus group of teachers and students. Between Life and Breath shows a series of incidents around an adolescent male student with asthma, some occurring at school.

  • Thunderstorm asthma - The thunderstorm asthma event in Melbourne on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 November last year was a sobering and sad reminder of the potential impacts of asthma. Although uncommon, thunderstorm asthma has occurred previously in Australia and overseas and its mechanisms are understood however are very difficult to predict.
