Asthma Management Workshop
Everyone with asthma should be provided with self-management education that involves a written asthma action plan, self-monitoring and regular medical review. This approach has been shown to improve asthma control and reduce unplanned asthma visits.
This workshop has been designed to provide health professionals with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively educate patients in asthma self management. The workshop focuses on the key principles of diagnosis and management, and takes a ‘hands-on’ approach to become familiar with medications and devices used to treat asthma. Break-out group sessions in the afternoon allow participants to enhance their practical skills in interpreting asthma action plans and educating priority population groups.
