Asthma First Aid Training

Asthma affects 1 in 9 children, many of whom attend care services regularly. It is important that staff in these services have a good understanding of asthma, put in place strategies to minimise the impact of asthma and have the skills and confidence to manage an asthma emergency. Having the right knowledge to act quickly could save a child's life.

Asthma First Aid is a 1 hour training package for education staff that can be done by any staff at any time and is often used as a refresher as required.

This package is not competency based and as such does not comply with the Early Childhood Education and Care legislative requirement.

Emergency Asthma Management (10392NAT) has been approved by ACECQA as meeting the requirements for emergency asthma management training in the National Regulations for Early Childhood Education and Care.
