Planned burns and bushfires

The Asthma Foundation of Victoria understands the importance of planned burns for safety in our community. I.e. protect life, property and the environment by reducing the fuel levels (e.g. leaves, brush and small shrubs). However, we know smoke is a common trigger among people with respiratory conditions like asthma, and smoke inhalation can sometimes affect a person for many days after the smoke was first breathed in.

We receive current and thorough information about planned burns and bushfires from our local government department(s) involved in this specialist area.
